The Commercial Fisheries Research Foundation is dedicated to increasing awareness of fisheries topics, educating others about our research, and training the next generation of fisheries scientists through outreach and education initiatives. We are proud to offer a free by-request workshop to introduce students to fisheries science and provide resources for students interested in pursuing an impact-driven, community-oriented career in science.
Details
This free workshop is best suited for high school juniors and seniors, and college freshmen.
We are happy to provide workshops at schools, universities, and other organizations that support these students. Please note that we are only able to provide workshops within Southern New England.
The workshop will last approximately 45 minutes to one hour, and will introduce students to:
Fisheries Science + Why it Matters
Fisheries Science Careers + Potential Paths
What it’s Like to Work in Fisheries Science
We will provide all attendees with a link to additional resources following the workshop.
