CFRF summer 2026 internship opportunity
The Commercial Fisheries Research Foundation is pleased to offer a part-time, paid summer internship for an undergraduate or graduate student or recent graduate. Learn more and apply below to spend the summer doing applied research with the commercial fishing industry!

Timeframe and Compensation:
This internship is offered from May through August 2026 with flexible start and end dates. The selected intern will receive at least $18/hour for 20 hours a week.
Eligibility:
This internship is open to:
Upper-level undergraduate students or graduate students focused on marine science or a related field.
Those who have received a degree less than a year ago are also welcome to apply.
The selected applicant must be available to work in person at the CFRF office in Kingston, Rhode Island.
One of the major challenges to increasing the number of underrepresented persons as professionals in ecology is providing them with a sense of belonging. A goal of this internship is to work towards changing that by providing a student from an underrepresented group in fisheries science with a sense of belonging at the Commercial Fisheries Research Foundation. Please note in your cover letter if you are from one of these groups.
